Summary You will serve as a TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANT (OA) in the Logistics Division of MARINE CORPS AIR STATION YUMA. Responsibilities You will perform a full range of transportation services for active duty military personnel, reserve components, and Department of Defense (DOD) civilians in connection with processing authorized personal property shipment/storage entitlements. You will schedule appointments over the phone, via email, or on a walk-in basis and review shipment requests, interpret orders, and process applications in accordance with travel orders. You will maintain shipment records, prepare, and processes shipping and storage documents using the Defense Personal Property Shipping (DPS) system. You will provide entitlement briefs to service members retiring, separating, and PCSing CONUS and OCONUS. You will screen completed PPM packages for correct documentation and compliance prior to submission for final settlement. You will perform clerical and data entry tasks in support of above duties using Excel spreadsheets, Adobe Acrobat, and the Defense Personal Property System (DPS). You will serve as a Transportation Agent for the Transportation Officer by signing routine correspondence. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS-06: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-05) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing counseling services to military and civilian personnel related to their entitlements for shipment and or storage of household goods, personal property and privately owned vehicles. GS-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-04) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing transportation services for military and civilian personnel in connection with processing authorized personnel property shipment/storage entitlements.
