HOW YOU WILL MAKE THIS A GREAT PLACE TO WORK

The Yard Technician is responsible for the general organization of the yard to ensure the safe

and smooth operation of the yard operations and related off-site locations. This person

will assist with various  aspects of the  construction yard, including occupational and environmental health and safety, yard team  management, material inventory, maintenance and possible minor repair of vehicles as needed.

SOME OF WHAT WE ENTRUST YOU TO DO

  • Oversee material and equipment inventory and restocking.

  • Oversee yard layout and equipment line up.

  • Responsible for the organization of the yard including general yard maintenance and yard clean up.

  • Loading and unloading material on/off of delivery trucks or company vehicles.

  • Clean and organize shop work area: sweep and clean work surfaces, clean vehicles  store parts, empty and discard garbage.

  • May operate power-driven equipment that may be needed to maintain the yard; such as   leaf blowers, weed trimer, and forklift.

  • May perform minor repairs on equipment as directed.

  • Comply with company and federal safety rules, policies and procedures to include wearing required safety equipment, PPE, responding to safety concerns and taking appropriate action.

  • May be required to handle hazardous materials.

    WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

  • Valid Class C Driver’s License with a clean driving record.

  • Knowledge of the safe and proper use of equipment and tools.

  • Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in heavy/highway construction work preferred.

  • Organizational skills a must. Inventory skills a plus.

  • Able to maintain a clean, organized, clutter free yard.

  • Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule  with minimal direction.

  • Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and verbal instructions.

  • Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.

    YOUR PRIOR EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

  • Forklift certification a plus.

  • Mechanically inclined a plus.

  • Experience operating a forklift and front-end loader a plus.

    COMPETITIVE PACKAGE

    The pay range for the Yard Tech in Yuba City CA is $18  to $23 hourly.

    This pay range is our competitive compensation at the time of this job posting. Your pay will be determined based on a number of factors, such as experience, education, skills, and applicable knowledge.

  • Employee is required to drive a motor vehicle and travel to various locations.

  • Must be able to access and navigate job sites and construction areas.
