POSITION: 1st Shift Press Operator LOCATION: Milan COMPENSATION: Up to $18.70 per hour SHIFTS/HOURS:

  • Monday-Friday; 7:00 am -- 3:30 pm
  • Overtime as necessary to achieve shift production goals (weekdays and weekends)

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Assembly Worker at a stamping plant is responsible for the efficient and accurate assembly of metal components produced through the stamping process for Chrysler, General Motors, and Jeep. The role involves working as part of a team to assemble various parts into finished products, ensuring quality standards are met, and contributing to the overall production process.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday; 7:00 am -- 3:30 pm
  • Overtime as necessary to achieve shift production goals (weekdays and weekends)

SKILLS:

  • Operate Press Machines: Operate presses ranging from 300 ton to 2,000 ton.
  • Inspect Metal Components: Produce and inspect metal components.
  • Tool Usage: Use hand tools, power tools, and machinery to complete production.
  • Quality Control: Inspect components and finished products for defects, ensuring they meet required specifications and quality standards.
  • Setup Assistance: Assist in setting up coils, mounting dies, and running production on automatic presses.
  • Maintain Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organized work area to optimize efficiency.
  • Safety Adherence: Adhere to all safety work procedures to prevent accidents, injuries, and damage to equipment.
  • Paperwork: Accurately complete required paperwork.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience:
    • Previous experience with press machines.
    • Previous manufacturing experience or related field preferred.
  • Tool Proficiency: Demonstrated use of basic hand tools, power tools, and production techniques.
  • Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and quality control.
  • Communication Skills: Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Problem-Solving: Basic problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Physical Stamina: Physical stamina to stand, bend, lift, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
  • Safety Knowledge: Understanding of safety protocols and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS:

Assembly Tasks: Assemble and inspect metal components using hand tools, power tools, and machinery.

Reporting Issues: Identify and report any issues or discrepancies to supervisors.

Workstation Preparation: Prepare workstations with the necessary tools, equipment, and materials required for the assembly process.

Safety Protocols: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents, injuries, and damage to equipment. Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Team Collaboration: Collaborate with fellow assembly workers, machine operators, and quality control personnel to ensure smooth workflow and efficient production. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
