Summary of Position Coordinates the operation of BCHHS, Institute of Community Health, Guin Fit Initiative to implement the Center for Disease Control's Racial and Ethnic Approaches to Community Health (REACH) program. Responsible for implementation and support of workplan activities with community partners focused on nutrition, physical activity, and family healthy weight programs policy, systems, and environmental changes efforts. Manages the development and implementation of Guin Fit initiative activities and budget. Ensures that assigned programs are completed according to specifications, budgets, and timelines. Remains current with best practice/evidence-based policy, systems, and environmental change focused on nutrition, physical activity, and family healthy weight programs. Position Information Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Supervises employees, students, and volunteers; evaluates staffing needs; assigns and reviews work; establishes timeframes for the completion of tasks; trains and orients new employees; approves and/or disapproves requests for leaves; interviews candidates for employment and recommends for hire; evaluates work performance; receives and responds to grievances; provides assistance with the BCHHS work procedures and policies; recommends and provides staff development opportunities; attend meetings with the CDC and communicate with CDC Program officer and supporting units. Compile written reports. Supports leadership in the implementation and enhancement of the operational objectives of the Institute of Community Health, Guin Fit initiative. Takes proactive steps to avoid potential delays in Guin Fit program delivery; forecasts potential workplan delays and develops alternate plans. Communicates with partners to arrange meetings, confirm program schedules, and discuss any program challenges. Ensures that partners/stakeholders are regularly informed of the status of the program. Communicates regularly with core PI team and CDC program officer regarding the program's status and problems/potential problems. Other Functions and Responsibilities: Performs other related duties as assigned. Equipment Operated: Computer and all other standard office equipment. Work Schedule: Typically, Monday through Friday. Some evening and weekend hours are required. Travels throughout counties and state as needed. Supervision Exercised: Supervision exercised over staff and student employees. Reports to: Full-time faculty member, Graduate Studies Health and Human Services who acts as Principal Investigator. Qualifications and Competencies Required Certifications, Training, and/or Licensures: Obtain certification in First Aid and CPR; valid driver's license; reliable transportation and ability to meet agency requirements for driving insurability; successful completion of agency requirements for criminal background check (Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification & Investigation and FBI).
