The Pioneer Central School District is seeking qualified candidates for the following position:

Special Education Teacher: Secondary

QUALIFICATIONSREQUIRED:

Any of the following valid NYS teaching certificates:

K - 12 Students w/ Disabilities

7 - 12 Students w/ Disabilities Generalist

QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED:

• Ability to collaborate and support student access to core content academics include knowledge and support of the Next Gen Learning Standards and elements of Specially Designed Instruction across self-contained classrooms

• Implementation of strategies that support literacy & vocabulary development across all content areas.

• Experience and knowledge of varied disability classifications; their potential learning impacts; including individualized program modifications.

• Evidence of Individualized Education Program (IEP) development based upon student deficits; transition and goal development with progress monitoring.

• Knowledge and support with work-based learning tracking, transition and exiting outcomes for each student.

• Evidence of ongoing, proactive, effective communication across students, staff and parents.

• Evidence of consistent classroom management with an emphasis on student engagement and support across various teachers, classrooms, expectations.

• Acknowledge the balance and connection of students' social and emotional well-being and academic progress.

• Commitment to ongoing professional learning, growth and development.

• Willingness to participate in and support student activities.
