Position Overview: The Senior Estimator provides effective leadership to the affiliated division's estimating group through all aspects of the estimating life cycle. This position is accountable for the development and submission of detailed and accurate estimates, providing guidance/peer checks to other estimators, and supporting post-bid submission customer requirements. The Senior Estimator will report to the Director of Estimating.

Location & Travel: This position can primarily be performed on a telecommute/hybrid basis It is preferred that this person be based in the greater central Pennsylvania area Occasional travel to other IBA offices, yard locations, training and pre-bid meetings Additional customer-related travel may also be required

Responsibilities: Prepare detailed cost estimates based on all levels of design documents. Mentor Associate Estimators. Assist in creating a developmental plan for associate estimators Peer-check all regional estimates, proposals, and lead bid reviews. Work with others in the Group to develop RFP deliverables that are of the highest quality, accurate, and coincide with RFP expectations. Refer all potential legal or contractual RFP bid requirements to the applicable Vice President. Coordinate with I.B. Abel, Inc. subject matter experts and Estimating group to compose work narratives, work approach documents, executive summaries, and other RFP deliverables. Assist the Project Management Team in developing cost codes applicable to project scope. Accubid database management. Project Delivery adherence. Obtain vendor and subcontractor quotes and evaluate for completeness and best price for use in bid (Abide by our purchasing policy and ethics) Distribute qualification documents as required for the bid (MBE, WBE, experience, key individuals, etc.) Complete an Excel Front Sheet to generate a price. Develop a detailed proposal letter or bid form. Participate in the estimate review process with internal and external stakeholders. Prepare GMP proposals and estimates in various formats as the customer dictates. Design-build and conceptual estimating. Generate award documents for review to be submitted by the deadline. Review all contract documents to become familiar with project requirements and obligations under the contract and apply them to pricing (schedule, specifications, drawings, safety manual, etc.), reviewing documents for accuracy and consistency.

Desired Qualifications: Required: Five or more years of related experience in the electrical construction industry Ten or more years performing cost estimating for the electrical industry. Five or more years of experience in GMP estimate. Design-build estimating experience.

Other: Valid Driver's License is required to operate a company or personal vehicle for company business. Ability to travel as required throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast Must be able to present acceptable documents evidencing identity and employment authorizations per the Federal I-9 requirement. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge of general construction practices. Knowledge of the National Electric Code and NFPA 70E.

Desired: Knowledge of construction building practices with familiarity with large industrial/commercial projects preferred Proficient in Excel, Word, Primavera 6, and MS Project. Pr ficient in Accubid Estimating Software.
