As an intern, you will participate in our nationwide BAE Systems Inc. Internship & Co-Op Program, LEAP, where you will have the opportunity to Learn, Engage, Apply, and Progress within the company. This internship is for May August 2025, but earlier start dates may be accommodated. In this position, you will be supporting the Combat Mission Systems (CMS) Business at our York, PA facility. Relocation will not be offered.
As a Manufacturing Engineering Intern, you will:
Support Engineering and Manufacturing Operations in a team-based environment, spending time on shop floor working with vehicle design, manufacturing processes and vehicle production. The candidates primary focus will be processing improvement projects throughout the manufacturing process (Fabrication, Assembly and Vehicle Test) and supporting the design engineering function.
Provide technical support to engineers troubleshooting various production/vehicle issues
Analyze and interpret design specifications, drawings, documentation, models, and/or test results to ensure technical designs comply with applicable engineering standards, military specifications, and product requirements
Provide input/status to manufacturing engineers and production line managers of the current vehicle status and configuration
Interacts with assembly touch labor to observe vehicle assembly process for potential improvements
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Currently enrolled in a Bachelors Degree program pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering or related fields
Willing to work in a hands-on environment, working with shop employees
Can work independently with minimal guidance
Effective communication skills
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Experience viewing/interpreting CAD model
Experience interpreting technical drawings and specifications
Mechanical background/interests
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $38522 - $52015
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
Temporary employees generally are not eligible for BAE Systems benefits, but can elect to participate in the 401(k) savings plan. Temporary employees working 20 hours per week are eligible for medical benefits, the employee assistance program, and business travel accident insurance.
