Aerotek Machine Operator in York, Pennsylvania

Now Hiring Machine Operators on 2nd and 3rd shift to interview and start ASAP

Description:

Currently hiring for 5 machine operators: 2 on 2nd shift (2p-10:30p) Dry/Wet Draw Operator and 3 on 3rd Shift (10p-6:30a Sun-Th) Respool Operator . Candidate will train for 4-6 weeks on 1st shift. The production process involves taking very large spools of wire (90% steel) that runs through machinery with dies to trim the wire down to customer spec as well as adding a coating or sealant to the wire. The majority of their wire goes to customers who produce staples (large for construction sites and to as small as staples for a stapler in an officer) as well as wire used to make fine wire brushes.

Respool/Wet Draw Operator:

  1. Operate digital controlled respooling machinery and auxiliary equipment to produce a quality product meeting customer expectations and production goals. Load raw material, feed wire correctly through machine and remove finished product.

  2. Change machinery over from one product or package to another. Perform quality welds using appropriate butt welder for type and size of wire.

  3. Operator Preventative Maintenance on all production and support equipment as assigned.

  4. Operate machinery in an efficient manner.

  5. Maintain accurate production and quality records.

  6. Understand product quality, delivery and scrap measurements.

  7. Operate in a safe manor; understand all Safety Procedures and policies, wearing all assigned PPE.

  8. Keep work area clean and organized so that the next operator is able work in a clean and safe environment.

  9. Other job-related duties as assigned.

  10. Must be able to take and pass OSHA approved Forklift Training, operating a Forklift is an essential part of the daily tasks, must be able to maintain a valid license.

  11. Operate Wire Drawing machinery

  12. With guidance from management and production supervisor, capable of adjusting equipment for the most efficient and optimum operation.

  13. Works well in a fast paced, team-oriented environment with changing priorities.

  14. Participates training, employee meetings, committees, project teams etc. as appropriate.

Wire Drawing Operator:

• Operate modern digital controlled Wire Drawing machinery and auxiliary equipment to produce a quality product meeting customer expectations and production goals. Load raw material, feed wire correctly through machine and remove finished product.

• Change machinery over from one product or package to another. Perform quality welds using appropriate butt welder for type and size of wire.

• Operator Preventative Maintenance on all production and support equipment as assigned.

• With guidance from management and production supervisor, capable of adjusting equipment for the most efficient operation.

• Maintain accurate production records using a tape measures, micrometers and calipers, using the metric measurement system.

• Understand product quality, delivery and scrap measurements.

• Operate in a safe manor; understand all Safety Procedures and policies, wearing all assigned PPE.

• Keep work area clean and organized so that the next operator is able work in a clean and safe environment.

• Other job-related duties as assigned.

• Must be able to take and pass OSHA approved Forklift Training, operating a Forklift is an essential part of the daily tasks, must be able to maintain a valid license.

• Ability to communicate in English, read, write and verbally

• Able to trouble shoot problems, using standard problem-solving methods to help direct support personnel in resolving issues

• Apply common sense methods when preforming written or oral instructions

• Capable of pushing, pulling, rolling items and lifting 70 pounds regularly and able to perform all essential work-related physical demands.
