Job Summary

Provides quality and appetizing, prepared and presented menu items for patient/resident, employee/visitor and administrative catered meals. Supports the hospitals goal of excellence in patient care in a Christian, caring environment by facilitating positive employee relations and supporting department goals. Provides exceptional care and service to patients, residents, guests and fellow employees at all times. Performs all duties and responsibilities in such a way as to demonstrate and support the hospitals Catholic heritage and Avera co-sponsorship values of hospitality, compassion, and stewardship. Provides care/service in accordance with regulatory and accrediting agencies standards and the Ethical and Religious Directives for healthcare.

Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
  • One to three years food service/cooking related experience and/or training preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Intermediate food handling and sanitation skills. Institutional food production experience is preferred.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

  • ServSafe Certification preferred.

Work Schedules Available

  • Day Shift, every third weekend, every third holiday; 72 hours every 2 weeks
    • 5:00am-3:30pm, 8:00am-6:30pm, 6:00am-2:30pm
  • Day/Evening Shift: 5:00am-3:30pm and/or 8:00am-6:30pm, 20 hours every 2 weeks

Pay

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

  • $18.25 - $22.25 per hour
