Description POSITION TITLE: Youth Ministry & CASE MANAGEMENT Coordinator STATUS: REGULAR FULL-TIME; NON-EXEMPT DIRECT SUPERVISOR: CORPS OFFICER / Ministry Leader In- Charge MISSION STATEMENT: The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. SCOPE OF POSITION: This is a hybrid role with multiply responsibilities and the selected applicant must be able to work in a changing environment with a demonstrated ability to juggle and prioritize competing tasks and demands and to seek supervisory assistance as appropriate. The Youth Ministry Coordinator will be responsible for the active discipleship of youth in the corps through Sunday School, weekly youth programming, and other Salvation Army events. Responsible for outreach to the youth of the community through the after-school program, summer day camp, and other various outreach opportunities. QUALIFICATIONS: Have an understanding and acceptance of The Salvation Army's mission, philosophy, programs, and practices and ability to share this. High School Diploma or GED. Some college and/or degree preferred. On the job experience may be substituted for educational requirements. Two to three years of experience teaching or working with children in an educational or ministerial environment. Have the ability to plan and schedule events, programs, and activities. Have the ability to plan, direct, and evaluate the work of subordinates. Have the ability to work independently or with other staff members. Be able to keep calm in demanding situations. Be First Aid and CPR Certified or be willing acquire both upon acceptance of job offer. Have experience working with volunteers and employees in both team and supervisory roles. Demonstrated leadership ability. Have the ability to work under the restrictions of a monthly budget. Have the ability to plan and execute events. Bilingual in Spanish language a plus. Weekly work schedule is based on programming needs. Possess a valid WA state driver's license ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Administrative Duties: Lead team meetings with the After School Program (ASP) staff on an as needed basis. Keep open communication with Corps Officers regarding Youth and Children's Ministry schedule, programs, trainings, and events including review of direction, strategy and goals Keep and report statistics for each individual children's program and adult program. Collect tuition for after school program and summer day camp. Maintain classrooms and bulletin boards, making sure areas are clean each day. Report any damages or issues to the Corps Officers as soon as possible. Following the guidelines of Protect the Mission, The Salvation Army's child safety program. Responsible to complete regular required training as needed. Plan, execute, and attend Troops one night a week. Prepare and attend Bible study/Corps Cadets for youth weekly. Pathway of Hope Coordination. Provide case management to families/clients, meeting on a weekly basis and keeping detailed notes for each case using Well Sky. Provide services as available and as budget allows to families. Drive for Corps ministry and business needs including events, supplies or transportation. After School Program Development: Plan activities, curriculum, calendar, and individual learning plans as directed. Secure needed s
