Yakima Valley Museum Facility Maintenance Coordinator in Yakima, Washington
JOB SUMMARY: Yakima Valley Museum is looking for a full-time Facility Coordinator responsible for the appearance and facility operations of the Museum. This candidate would be responsible for the cleaning and light maintenance of the Museum building along with supporting the growing Event & Rental program. This position would contribute to the growth of the museum and join a team of dedicated professionals.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Janitorial:
- Responsible for the cleanliness of all spaces within the Yakima Valley Museum including exhibit galleries, office spaces, lobby and kitchen. This includes performing daily janitorial duties including:
- vacuuming public spaces and offices;
- mopping and sweeping;
- disinfecting public spaces like door handles, handrails, elevator buttons and water fountains;
- emptying trash/recycling bins;
- sweeping;
- cleaning restrooms;
- Ensure all supplies and consumables are stocked;
- Perform monthly cleaning tasks of less traffic areas and spaces;
- Work closely with Curator of Exhibits and Visitor Services Manager on specific tasks related to the care of exhibition spaces;
- Coordinate and schedule contractors when needed to address larger cleaning issues when appropriate including carpet and window cleaning.

Maintenance:
- Perform and/or oversee general routine maintenance tasks and repairs in a timely manner. These include, but are not limited to:

- Ongoing inspection of the plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems to ensure any issues are addressed quickly
- Change HVAC system filters using manufacturer guidelines
- Perform light repairs in the museum within all systems and/or schedule 3^rd^ party contractor to repair if outside of skillset
- Touch up painting where needed

- Maintain a clean and organized workshop.
- Coordinate and schedule contractors for maintenance and repair projects.
- Maintain working knowledge of the daily operations and maintenance requirements for the systems within the Museum;
- Create and oversee maintenance schedules for facilities and contractual work to ensure minimum interference with Museum operations;
- Develop internal work order system to efficiently prioritize maintenance tasks.
- Patrol the outside of the Museum to ensure the security and safety of the building, observing for signs of

Event Support:
- Complete table and chair set-ups for Museum events.
- When appropriate, provide additional technical support for equipment set up for events.
- Contribute to the staffing of Museum events when requested.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to learn and document the operations and maintenance of systems and equipment;
- Proven ability to work with tools;
- Must demonstrate proper safety when using equipment;
- Customer service, communication and organizational skills;
- Ability to prioritize tasks to meet scheduled and unexpected deadlines;
- Ability to work as part of a team;
- This position requires frequently standing and lifting 25 pounds or more;
