Eurofins Microbiology Laboratories, Inc., formally Cascade Analytical serves the greater Washington state area supporting agricultural, food, feed, and ingredient industries with microbiological testing, and environmental monitoring services.

We are now looking for a Business Unit Manager (BUMa) for our facility in Yakima, WA who will be responsible for sales, business development, quality control, and the overall financial performance of the laboratory.

Tasked to lead and expand the Business Unit along the agreed-upon strategy, the BUMa will be in charge of technical site operations, maximizing the efficiency and profitability of the scientific teams while delivering the targets of the BU, both financial and strategic.

This position is a strong combination of strategic planning, managing operational excellence, client relationship management, and leadership, using HR best practices to ensure that our laboratory is operating at the highest quality and productivity standards. 

To perform this job successfully, the individual should meet the following requirements:

Education: min. bachelor's degree in Science or related field. MBA would be nice to have.

Experience: 7+ years of working in the food service industry (preferably in a laboratory environment: experience with lab procedures, data analysis, computer operations + ability to lead lab through continuous improvement initiatives). 

At least 5 years of supervisory experience with strong leadership skills to be able to organize and lead laboratory personnel in a manner that reflects corporate goals and objectives and schedule workflow to optimize laboratory productivity and client satisfaction cost-effectively.

Skills/abilities: financial acumen to understand and analyze financial statements.

Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with action-oriented attitude, and attention to detail.

Experience in technical/business writing and giving oral presentations.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
