Fairview Health Services Registered Nurse (RN) - Lakes Emergency Department in Wyoming, Minnesota

Overview

Fairview Health Services is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department at our Lakes Medical Center location in Wyoming, MN .

Fairview Lakes Medical Center provides award-winning care to the community’s northeast of the Twin Cities.  We are a Level IV trauma center, providing life-saving treatment to the seriously ill and injured 24 hours a day.  Specialty services are available on-site in heart care, cancer care, childbirth, orthopedics, pediatrics and more.

Schedule : This position will be working 0.6 FTE (48 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 12 hours on the Day/Evening shift and will also work every third weekend.

Shift Times: 7a-7:30p, 9a-9:30p, 11a-11:30p, and 1p-1:30a

About the Emergency Department at Lakes Medical Center :

  • Our unit has 24 beds and 3 teams:

  • Team A - 8 rooms.

  • Team B - 8 rooms.

  • Team C - 7 rooms.

  • The trauma room stands alone, and we follow the Team Nursing model.

  • We offer a multidisciplinary approach to all emergencies.

  • Our care delivery team consists of Board Certified/Eligible ED physicians, RNs, ER Techs, Health Unit Coordinators, and Psych Associates.

Responsibilities Job Description

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be responsible for:

  • Assessing, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s).

  • Performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act.

  • Coordinate care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate.  

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • MN RN license in good standing.

  • BLS at the time of hire.

  • One year Emergency Department experience,pediatric/ adult critical care or telemetry experience.

  • ACLS certification must be completed prior to the end of orientation.

  • Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) within 12 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ED Charge Nurse experience is preferred.

  • ACLS certification by the time of hire. 

  • Certification by the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing as a CEN, and/or course in advanced trauma nursing (ATCN).

  • BSN, BAN preferred.
