Robert Half is currently working with a client seeking a cost accountant. This critical Cost Accountant role is responsible for the ongoing analysis of product cost, development of new product cost and margin analysis. This role will also work closely with the sales teams and senior financial management team to establish customer pricing. Responsibilities

• Estimate new and proposed product costs

• Review changes in goods or services provided in order to determine what effect it has on the cost

• Execute standardized costing methodology for all domestic plants

• Conduct variance analysis such as Purchase Price to Cost variance, cost revaluation, Invoice to PO price variances and work order variances

• Provide management with reports that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products or services

• Interpret data collected and record detailed results

• Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs

• Create internal cost audits

• Monitor the cycle count program and conduct physical inventories

• Develop and support the cost accounting system, documents, and records of the organization

• Generate financial statements that comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

• Decide costs of business activity, including raw material purchases, inventory, and labor usage, waste

• Support audits and general ledger preparation

• Recommend costs and cost savings based on analysis

  Requirements - Strong understanding of organizational accounting concepts

• High analytical and extremely detailed

• Detailed and have the ability work independently

• 2 years of Cost Accounting work experience

• Highly capable of analyzing financial data and quickly creating accurate reports

• Strong knowledge of cost management methodologies, activities, and cost pools based on direct and indirect cost rates

• Bachelors degree in accounting or related field
