Saint-Gobain Lead Converting Operator 1st shift in WORCESTER, Massachusetts

The Converting Lead Operator reports directly to the shift supervisor and plays a critical role in maintaining compliance with material quality, documentation, and operational standards. The lead is required to posses an extensive knowledge of our converting machinery and exceptional customer service. They must be self-motivated, collaborative, and committed to excellence.- Must be able to perform all duties under Converting Operator job description. They will set the example for a model operator by ensuring all safety protocols are followed along with the Saint-Gobain Code of Conduct and Action,

  • Documentation Adherence: Ensure accurate and timely completion of all required documentation including production logs, inspections reports and compliance records. Review that others are completing documentations before the start and end of shift. These will be defined by customer requirements and/or supervisor

  • Quality Assurance: Monitor and enforce quality standards through production processes. Identify quality problems and troubleshoot quality issues on the converting machines. Work with other operators and Quality to make film acceptance or rejection decisions.

  • Machine Knowledge: Be able to troubleshoot issues and work with other departments to fix basic or complex issues.

  • Training: Aids or facilitates training of new hires or cross-training of existing employees. Lead may not be directly training a new hire but will still be required to assist as needed.

  • Work with Supervisors or Operation Support Advisor to predict short and longterm packaging needs, take inventory counts and request additional packaging material.

  • Foster an environment of teamwork, high level of productivity, and quality, as well as cost effective use of time and material.

  • Housekeeping duties in specific work area and general plant

  • Duties as assigned• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. • At least 2-4 years-prior converting experience. Individual must be able to function in a team-based atmosphere.
