The Heavy-Duty Truck Mechanic (HDTM) is responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy-duty trucks and trailers that have been identified as requiring service and/or maintenance in the vehicle's inspection repair book.  HDTM is responsible for moving equipment in and out of the repair facility safely.  HDTM will accurately complete work orders on any maintenance and/or service performed on a particular piece of equipment including accurately tracking time spent on the repair as well as any parts or other materials removed from inventory to perform the job.  HDTM will perform scheduled maintenance on equipment as required.  HDTM is also responsible for other tasks/projects as determined by management.  HDTM must have their own tools to perform service and/or maintenance tasks.

  • Review vehicle's daily inspection repair book to determine required service and/or maintenance needs.;
  • Move equipment requiring repair into and out of the maintenance facility in a safe manner;
  • Diagnose service and/or maintenance requirements on various types of equipment;
  • Conduct service and/or maintenance requirements on various types of equipment in a timely and accurate manner;
  • Accurately complete work orders on any service and/or maintenance tasks performed for each piece of equipment, including time spent on the repair as well as any inventory items (e.g. parts, materials, etc.) used to complete the repair;
  • Perform scheduled maintenance on equipment according to the equipment's preestablished service and/or maintenance schedule;
  • Report important service, maintenance and inventory issues to management;
  • Perform various equipment service and/or repair tasks/projects as determined by periodically by management;
  • Maintain a clean working environment; and
  • Adhere to all company, local, state and federal safety rules and regulations.
