Fabricates and installs awnings for homes and commercial and industrial establishments. Measures windows, doors, and other openings for size of awning and cuts and assembles frame. Drills holes in window and door frames, masonry, or brick, fascia, walls and roof and mounts brackets. Hangs awnings in brackets. Screws or nails frame fittings into place. Installs and fastens awnings and other shade products, and tests for ease of operation. Inspect the installation surface to be covered to determine its condition and take pictures before installation Mounts awning frame to fittings and/or structure and fastens into position with hand tools. Rolls or lifts awning makes adjustments to canvas, metal, plastic, ropes, and frame to correct operating defects. May measure buildings to develop specifications for fabrication of awnings. May install awning hoods. May fabricate awning frame, may assemble awning to frame. May repair canvas coverings. Clean up before and after installation, discarding remnant pieces and trash.
