Analytical Senior Scientist

Summary: Velesco Pharma, a Pace Analytical Life Sciences, LLC company, is hiring an Analytical Scientist experienced in conducting HPLC assay and related substance methods in a pharmaceutical analytical chemistry research laboratory.  The Analytical Scientist will perform routine analytical testing for research and QC projects for various drug substance and drug product projects.  The candidate will also assist in method development, validation, and transfer activities.

This is a full-time onsite position located in Wixom, MI.

Job Responsibilities: Performs routine analytical tests of pharmaceutical raw materials, finished products, and stability samples using instrumentation like HPLC, UPLC, GC, UV/VIS, disintegration, dissolution, etc. Responsible for the timely execution of lab analysis as directed. Concurrent documentation of all the raw data and observations in the worksheets/templates/notebooks. Be vigilant to any difficulties or undesirable/unacceptable problems in analytical method execution, chromatography, and data integration, and keep the supervisor/manager informed of such issues. Compile the analytical data and notify the results supervisor/manager. Adhere to safety, DEA procedures, and department SOPs. Keep the working place clean and tidy.

Requirements:

Must be self-motivated, possess good interpersonal skills, able to independently handle a wide variety of work assignments, be highly detail-oriented, and meet tight timelines. Candidate will work in a fast-changing environment and needs good judgment and awareness to recognize and solve laboratory/data issues. Exhibits good writing, communication, and time management skills and excels in working in a team environment. A minimum of 3 years experience in conducting HPLC assay and related substance methods in a pharmaceutical analytical chemistry laboratory with a focus on early, mid, and late-stage pharmaceutical projects. Working knowledge of pharmaceutical product development, CMC regulatory requirements, project management, and capability to collaborate with colleagues and third-party vendors. Experienced in operating and troubleshooting Agilent HPLC systems Running Empower Highly Desired. Experience with GC, dissolution, viscosity, and Karl Fisher testing. Accomplished at handling and weighing small quantities of material utilizing a microbalance. Accustomed to writing and maintaining SOPs as well as high-quality lab notebook documentation. Experience with Instrument installation, operation, and performance qualifications. BS or MS Degree in Chemistry or a related field.
