ROLE SUMMARY

What are the key objectives and expectations from this role?

To manage the strategic sourcing of materials and services for British American Tobacco / Reynolds American through the development of innovative and sustainable sourcing strategies to deliver a significant competitive advantage for the company.

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

  • Actively collaborate with client groups to define and communicate material or service specifications and requirements.

  • Plan, handle and coordinate category sourcing projects to ensure the desired business results are achieved based on best total value (quality, delivery, savings, etc.).

  • Analyse quotations for accuracy, completion, contract compliance and make sourcing recommendations.

  • Lead day-to-day supplier interfaces including contract negotiation, pricing, Purchase Orders, discrepancies, project completion, metrics, etc.

  • Communicate with internal clients, suppliers, and other Procurement staff to ensure the timely delivery of required materials or services.

  • Support strategic planning and the Procurement process for assigned materials and services while exercising good business and analytical skills.

  • Develop, lead, and maintain supplier relationships which provides a competitive advantage.

  • Using third party resources, handle the creation and management of contracts, RFx initiatives, project savings in the eProcurement tool and the execution of accompanying purchase orders.

  • Conduct benchmarking of category performance, applying market research and analysis for recommendations to client groups.

  • Perform spend analysis, category analysis and develop recommendations for issue resolution.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with all partners.

  • Lead special projects and/or assignments as required, using approved guidelines.

  • Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) – Conduct periodic SRM performance reviews with key suppliers to drive performance and commercial benefits for the business.

  • Ability to make sound and timely decisions in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills

  • Strong project and time management

  • Strong functional knowledge of computers and information systems

  • Driven, upbeat, flexible, and adaptable to change

  • Must be able to understand, review, negotiate, and maintain various agreement types

  • Strong sense of ethics and ability to maintain confidentiality

Education / Qualifications / Certifications Required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 6+ years of relevant work experience, or Associates with 4+ years of experience, or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or related field and 2+ years relevant work experience preferred

  • Proficiency in Microsoft office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PowerBI, etc.)

  • Proficiency in a Contract Lifecycle Management application (iCertis)

BENEFICIAL

  • Experience with SAP ERP, Coupa, and iCertis.

  • Facilities / Utilities Management or engineering background
