We're seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer Manager to join our dynamic Interiors team. In this pivotal role, you'll lead multiple design engineering teams in the development, testing, and production of cutting-edge Aircraft Commercial Seating (ACS) products. You'll be instrumental in driving engineering excellence, ensuring our products meet stringent regulatory, safety, quality, and design standards.

What you will do:

  • Lead and mentor multiple design engineering teams, ensuring on-time delivery, budget adherence, and high-quality output.

  • Develop and refine engineering processes to meet regulatory, safety, and quality standards.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive project completion and achieve business objectives.

  • Monitor and manage project cost, schedule, and technical performance, addressing risks proactively.

  • Oversee resource forecasting to align team capacity with business needs.

  • Implement project management principles, ensuring activities are well-planned and risks are mitigated.

  • Utilize visual management techniques to monitor program progress and escalate issues as needed.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, driving best practices and lessons learned across product development cycles.

  • Provide coaching and conflict resolution to maintain high performance within the team.

Qualifications you must have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position

Qualification we prefer:

  • Direct experience in designing and certifying aerospace interiors systems.

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

    Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
