Job Description
Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in mental health promotion and education.
Recruiting students for graduate Mental Health Education graduate certificate program.
Coordination of a large section (300 +) basic Health and Wellness course with multiple teachers.
Coordination of Mental Health in Schools and Organizations Graduate Certificate.
Collaborating with faculty and support services across the University to develop and implement mental health education curricular changes.
May provide supervision of K-12 student teaching experiences for health and physical education
Support Winona State University’s mission to enhance the intellectual, social, cultural and economic vitality of the people and communities we serve by providing assistance and service to the program, department, college, University and greater community.
Instruct courses on the Winona and/or Rochester campuses via various medium, including face-to-face (Winona and/or Rochester campus), online, hybrid, teleconference at varied times, including morning, afternoon, evening, and weekends.
Assist with programmatic accreditation.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in health education, Health Promotion, Community Health or related field
Instructor Certification in Mental Health First Aid: Adult and Child
Experience of coordination and management of large section health related undergraduate courses
Minimum of 2 years of experience in teaching graduate level courses
Minimum of 5 years of experience in teaching undergraduate level courses
Experience of liaison with community organizations and agencies to promote service learning
Experience with traditional, laboratory, online and blended classroom delivery techniques.
Documented experience of licensed lead teaching health and physical education in PK-12 school settings.
Documented experience of teaching health in community settings.
Preferred Qualification
Terminal degree in health education, Health Promotion, Community Health or related field
Experience developing, using and editing on-line textbooks.
Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with colleagues, administrators and other departments.
Demonstrate experience serving on university committees.
Experience working with or within health-related community organizations.
Experience with supervision of student club and activities.
