Actalent Electrical Design Engineer in Winneconne, Wisconsin

Electrical Design Engineer

Duties:

  • Operate independently and collaborate closely with application engineers, electrical engineers, and the mechanical team on projects to ensure clear communication and finalize construction drawings packages.

  • Design electrical systems based on customer-approved drawings and review customer redlines to support Electrical Engineers in revising the drawings.

  • Create and finalize construction drawings, including control schematics, three lines, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, and sub-panel layouts.

  • Coordinate with the electrical and mechanical engineering teams for door layouts, and conduit, wireway, and cable tray runs.

  • Follow engineering processes and attend meetings with the electrical and mechanical engineers to ensure no gaps are found in manufacturing, thus avoiding rework.

  • Cross-check construction drawings packages using the Design Check List prior to releasing designs to maintain quality.

  • Process Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and show urgency in promptly closing issues to ensure on-time shipments.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Associate or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)

  • 1-3 years of experience in electrical design

  • Experience using SolidWorks Electrical or other CAD software

  • Solid understanding of one-line, three-line, control schematics, and point-to-point drawings

  • Ability to interpret customer drawings (One Line, Controls, three lines, wiring diagrams, and cable schedules)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills
