Data-Mail Digital Finisher Operator - 1st shift in Windsor, Connecticut
WORK LOCATION: WINDSOR, CT 06095
WORK SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday; 7:30 am - 3:30 pm
SUMMARY
Proficient in the operation of a narrow digital finishing line. Generally performs the more difficult assignments with production, quality, and safety in mind. Responsible for the overall quality of the final printed product, as well as the overall condition of the machine and work area.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for job setup, as follows:
Review job tickets for information on the upcoming job.
Ensure all necessary materials (dies, laminate, foil, printed rolls) and information is on hand prior to the start of the make-ready. Check printed roll to ensure it matches the job ticket.
Review job ticket instructions
Setup the job to the specifications on the job ticket and operate and adjust the machine for optimal performance.
Responsible for following all manufacturing and safety SOP’s
Responsible for the production of jobs, as follows:
Maintain good registration of the die to the print throughout the run
Inspect and ensure quality of print throughout the run.
Notify press operator of any issues with the print
Remove breaks from the input roll
Inspect die strikes throughout the run
Produce product free of imperfections, such as hickeys, broken type, etc.
Ensure the samples are of the best quality possible
Maintain the proper retains per the Quality SOP
Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems as they arise
Maintain an awareness of schedule, achieving the best possible production speeds
Record production of rolls and accurately complete Label Traxx production reports
Clean machine at the end of the shift
Communicate machine maintenance, supply and safety issues to management.
Complete end-of-shift/job reports, as required.
Perform maintenance as needed. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, as required.
Comply with company rules, regulations and standard operating procedures.
Maintain confidentiality of company-sensitive data.
Implement a commitment to quality philosophy and recommend methods and procedures to reduce cost and/or improve quality and operating efficiency of the department.
Keep manager/supervisor informed of activities and situations that will impact the achievement of corporate or department goals and objectives.
Perform other related duties, as required, to achieve the goals and objectives of the department and company.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Trade school, high school or GED preferred plus 2-3 years of converting experience on narrow webs or equivalent.
