SS&C Technologies Inc Consultant Software Engineer in Windsor, Connecticut

Consultant Software Engineer (SSandC Technologies, Inc., Windsor, CT): You will be part of a highly agile, innovative, and talented team in designing and developing complex software components for a distributed fund and content management platform. These highly complex software components will be leveraged by Intralinks portfolio of applications in a highly available and secure SaaS environment. Specific responsibilities include: engaging Product Management and other stakeholders on the feasibility of the proposed requirements and the effort necessary to implement these requirements; reviewing high level design documents that describe the implementation approach; partnering with the rest of the team to develop a detailed design for implementation and their dependencies; independently designing and implementing complex components based on broad requirements, and researching, evaluating, and making recommendations to management on new technologies; identifying and executing SDLC tasks based on priority; carrying out the precise unit, system, automation, and security testing and analysis; producing tools and applications by developing clean and efficient code; authoring monitoring tools and identifying potential issues ahead of time and documenting the same; performing detailed code analysis and code reviews; debugging defects, identifying and rectifying offending code, and developing test cases to capture the use case promptly; interacting with Performance and Capacity planning teams to ensure that the product has met all the necessary performance and scalability requirements before production deployment; interacting with Operations and Release Engineering to produce installable components that make up the final product that is production ready; ensuring software systems are upgradable and verifiable, and ensuring all software systems are upgraded on time to avoid security risks; documenting features and leading an audience through a knowledge transfer session of the same; mentoring and coaching junior team members on the product, process, and its implementation toward team success; actively self-improving by initiating and participating in learning initiatives, thus broadening individual and teams skill set; and contributing towards the maintenance of active releases in production.

Telecommuting permitted. International travel to India will be required 5% of the time.

Minimum requirements: Masters degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field plus 3 years of experience in any occupation in which the required experience is gained. Alternatively, will accept a bachelors degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field plus 5 years of experience in any occupation in which the required experience is gained.

Must have: 3 years of experience with JavaScript, Node.JS, Python, Rest APIT, and JSON. 3 years of experience with Distributed and Concurrent Systems, Multithreading, Asynchronous Programming Model, Event-Driven Programming Environment, Microservices, and Performance and Scalability concepts. 3 years of experience with SQL Databases MS SQL and Postgres, and Docker containers. 3 years of experience with NoSQL Databases, such as MongoDB or Cassandra. 3 years of experience with Application Caching, such as Redis. 3 years of experience with Logging (ex. Splunk) and APM Dynatrace and Prometheus, and with Kubernetes. Knowledge of DevOps Practices. Knowledge of CI/CD principles.
