Windham Mountain Resort FACILITIES MANAGER in Windham, New York

Overview of Position: The Facilities department is responsible for the overall cleanliness and of the buildings, and grounds immediately surrounding the Windham Mountain Club main lodge, Windham Country Club clubhouse, and all other resort outlets . The Facilities Manager guides the efforts of the Facilities Cleaning staff and is involved in the training and supervision of staff in their job duties as well as interaction with guests. This position works closely with the Marketing, Special Events and Food & Beverage Departments in coordinating special function needs.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Perform supervisory functions including hiring, training, inspections, and reviewing daily / weekly department needs.

  • Manage staff scheduling and other needs as advised by the Director of Food and Beverage.

  • Assist in overall day-to-day cleaning and special function duties.

  • Responsible for all setup and break down of special events and functions.

  • Operation of and training of staff in the usage of heavy equipment for janitorial tasks.

  • Coordinate the transport of trash and recyclable to the transfer station.

  • Maintain ordering and inventory of supplies and equipment.

  • Cooperate with other departments in maintenance and cleaning efforts.

  • Create and prioritize off-season projects.

  • Maintain department equipment.

  • Responsible for greeting and dispensing information to all guests. This involves approaching guest, inquiring if they have any questions and being able to respond professionally.

  • Other duties as assigned.

    Job Qualifications:

  • Must have experience in commercial cleaning, preferably in a leadership position.

  • Must exhibit strong leadership skills and attention to detail.

  • Must have basic computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

  • Must be reliable, results-driven, and willing to learn.

  • Must be innovative and open-minded about improving the operation of the department.

  • Must be comfortable interacting with both staff and guests in a friendly and helpful manner.

  • Must be able to handle a stressful, noisy, and crowded situation.

  • Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 pounds and stand for an entire work shift.

  • Must maintain a clean and professional appearance.

    Work Schedule and Conditions: We are in the business of providing a premier product and guest experience. Traditionally our busy periods are during weekends and holiday periods which you will be expected to work. You can also expect to be asked to work extra hours or days on occasion, especially during the holiday periods.
