National Lutheran Communities & Services Speech Therapist-The Village at Orchard Ridge in Winchester, Virginia
We have an exciting opportunity for a Speech Therapist to join our team.
You will be responsible for helping our residents overcome communication and swallowing disorders, enabling them to maintain their quality of life and independence. You will work closely with the residents to evaluate their speech, language, and cognitive-communication abilities, develop personalized treatment plans, and administer therapeutic interventions to improve their functional abilities. In this role, you will provide support to our Assisted Living, Assisted Living Memory Care, Long-Term care, Skilled Nursing, and Independent Living (Outpatient) neighborhoods and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and occupational therapists, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for our residents.
Requirements
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
Current state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
Experience in geriatric speech therapy or a senior living setting (preferred)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Compassionate and patient-focused approach
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems
