Shenandoah University Program Director, Occupational Therapy Doctorate Program in Winchester, Virginia

The Shenandoah University Division of Occupational Therapy is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the Program Director position for the Occupational Therapy Doctorate Program based at our campus in Winchester, VA. This is a career-contract track position at the rank of Associate Professor and is a full-time, 12-month faculty position.

The primary responsibilities of this position include teaching and student advising in the didactic and clinical phases of the program. In addition, faculty within the program are expected to participate in interprofessional education opportunities, participate in scholarship, and provide service, including active participation on program, school, and university committees. Opportunities are provided for professional service to the OT profession and clinical practice.

We seek candidates whose teaching, research, and/or service has prepared them to support our commitment to fostering a diverse community supported by an equitable, inclusive campus climate that engages diverse audiences in occupational therapy education.

Required Skills

We are seeking a candidate who can demonstrate collaboration with faculty, students, staff , and across the university along with a desire to serve our profession and the global community; who values diversity, equity , and inclusion in health care practice.

Qualifications for this position include:

  • Graduation from an accredited occupational therapy program

  • Minimum of an earned Doctoral degree (clinical or research)

  • Minimum of eight years of current clinical experience

  • Minimum of four years of experience as a faculty member with teaching responsibilities at the post-baccalaureate level.

  • Administrative experience including, but not limited to, program planning and implementation, personnel management, evaluation, and budgeting

  • A record of scholarship

  • Current NBCOT certification and eligibility for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

  • Current AOTA member

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and a commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion
