Business Unit Overview

8th Avenue Food & Provisions is a growing organization made up of businesses that produce and sell quality products including pasta, peanut butter, granola, and fruit and nut trail mixes to retail, foodservice and ingredient customers. The company was formed in October 2018 through a combination of Post Holdings’ private brands businesses and is owned by Post Holdings and funds affiliated with Thomas H. Lee Partners, L.P. (“THL”), a private equity firm. Responsibilities MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Operate packaging machinery in a safe and productive manner. Inspect product and packaging material for acceptable quality standards. Report and record all deviations from acceptable standard to Coordinator. Perform assigned duties in a manner as to comply with all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Plant safety guidelines. Work with all teams within the plant in a friendly, professional, courteous manner to facilitate an efficient plant and positive work environment. Make all packaging and equipment changes and repairs in a timely manner to comply with the production schedule as assigned by the Coordinator. Must have knowledge of and ability to operate and/or troubleshoot all equipment in the General Packaging area, to include such items as: Willets Checkweighers Metal Detector Cartoners Case Packers Case and Carton Conveyors TKF Elevators Glue Systems Cart Dump Station Must have specific knowledge of equipment in assigned areas, such as: Long Goods – Cutters, Stick Return, G3 Scales, Gough Econ Short Goods – WIP System, Worldstar Scales, Tap Outs Lasagne – Cutters and Waterfalls, Stick Return, Product Transfer Conveyors, 4 lb / 10 lb Area Communicate all pertinent equipment/product problems that may occur during shift operations to the Coordinator/Manager. Take initiative to clean areas throughout the plant and complete cleaning checklist. Must have regular and punctual attendance. All other duties as assigned by a Coordinator or Manager. PRODUCT QUALITY & FOOD SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES: As an employee of 8th Avenue Food & Provisions you share in the responsibility for producing a food product that meets established specifications of the highest quality and is safe and wholesome. It is every 8th Avenue Food & Provisions employee’s responsibility to immediately report any incident or situation that may compromises any of the above factors or issues to their immediate Supervisor and if unavailable to the Quality Assurance Technicians and/or a Manager at the plant. DIMENSIONS: Non-Supervisory role MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED TO SUCCESSFULLY PERFORM MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Able to respond to alarms and resolve problems in a timely manner. Work well with teammates and communicate with all employees with respect and courtesy. PHYSICAL DEMANDS – The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Bend, twist, etc., in order to efficiently operate system. Lift loads of 50 pounds, and move and stack various sized objects. Climb stairs/ladders and work in the air up to 30 feet. Twist/bend, etc. to enter/exit tight/cramped areas for cleaning and clearing jams. Work in dust filled area with proper equipment. Must be able to perform keyboard functions on a computer. (Not data entry, using press pad, touches screen and mouse).
