Position Summary

Supervises the overall warehouse operations and daily activities of staff. Oversees inventory levels, monitors the safety of goods, and ensures the efficient usage of warehouse space. Operates an applicable system to update inventory status and respond to stakeholder's inquiries. Reviewing direct reports with the Warehouse Manager.

General Duties/Responsibilities

  • Maintain and drive culture of proper warehouse housekeeping, safety standards, and training
  • Oversee warehouse operations including reviewing direct reports with the Warehouse Manager
  • Establish clear performance and behavioral expectations for direct reports
  • Supervise warehouse activities related to our product at internal and external facilities including but not limited to ensuring goods are stored properly at the correct temperature
  • Proactively prepare for the monthly physical warehouse inventory with accurate data entry
  • Ensure the integrity of inventory accuracy with the help of direct reports and Warehouse Manager
    • Identify and resolve discrepancies
    • Manage stock movements Inventory and order relevant warehouse items including but not limited to GMA pallets, CHEP pallets, shrink wrap, banding materials, slip sheets, top frames
    • Manage dunnage returns
  • Handle inbound and outbound shipments and complete accurate documentation
    • Pack orders to be shipped out according to defined process and procedure
    • Inspect all deliveries for potential damage before driver leaves and escalate issues accordingly
  • Repair or dispose of damaged or unusable pallets
  • Manage powered industrial trucks (PIT) such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and scissor lifts
    • Check and add fluids, check tire pressure and conduct regular safety inspections
    • Maintain all maintenance logs
    • Serve as certified PIT trainer

Food Safety and Quality Responsibilities

  • Follow GMP policy when in the production facility and encourage your team to do the same.
  • Understand our SQF policies relating to pest control, visitors, allergen management, and cleaning and sanitation.
  • Demonstrate awareness of Management's Commitment to SQF and work towards Food Safety and Quality and help the company meet this commitment.
  • If there is a problem that involves food quality and safety, report to the Quality Assurance Manager Manager so that the CAPA (corrective action, preventative action) log may be filled out, the situation be investigated, and resolved with the goal of continuous improvement of food quality and safety.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Forklift experience required, certification strongly preferred
  • Ability to identify and execute productivity opportunities
  • High standard of cleanliness
  • Knowledge of food safety standards
  • Proficiency with spreadsheet/ document data entry
  • Heightened awareness of safety precautions and hazards for self and others
  • Ability to interact effectively at all levels within the organization

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Warehouse experience, minimum 2 years required

Work Environment/Physical Requirements

  • 30 minute unpaid Lunch break; two 15 minute breaks paid
  • Expectation of a regular presence on the plant floor
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, crawl, climb, and reach at times
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50lbs solo and 75 lbs shared
