Job Description

We are looking for a sustainability professional who is enthusiastic and motivated to collaborate and implement solutions in campus dining operations with students, faculty, and staff. This position plays a vital role in implementation of Aramark?s Be Well. Do Well. Sustainability plan as well supporting our campus sustainability efforts and serving as a liaison to the campus community.

In alignment with the University?s sustainability priorities and Be Well. Do Well., the Sustainability Coordinator will work with the Sustainability Manager and field operations teams to implement standard operating sustainability procedures and practices in the areas of responsible and local sourcing, efficient operations, and waste minimization. This position will report to the Sustainability Manager, and work with the onsite marketing team to communicate results regarding the overall sustainability program. This person will educate both the Dining team and the campus community on sustainability concepts, frameworks, and programs and how these programs impact people and planet.

Job Responsibilities

Waste Minimization

• Participate in employee education and training on waste minimization practices.

• Support waste audit programming and contamination monitoring

• Support residential and retail circularity programming as needed.

Outreach and Marketing

• Management of Nourish the Nest newsletter content on a monthly basis in partnership with the Campus Dining Registered Dietitian

• In partnership with the marketing team and Sustainability Manager, create sustainability marketing and education awareness campaigns.

• Assist in planning and execution of events.

• Program Management

• Oversee Campus Dining Sustainability Intern Program including scheduling and task management.

• Maintain the Campus Dining Sustainability website, including timely ad hoc updates to the What Goes Where program

• Manage all on-site cultivation operations in partnership with the Sustainability Manager

• Babylon Farms

• Microgreen Tower

• NC Butterfly Highway Pollinator Garden

• Provide new project recommendations, where appropriate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND entry level -3 years of related experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

• Must possess the ability to effectively interact with all levels of management and be able to build strong relationships with guests, partners, as well as Aramark teams to accomplish goals and objectives.

• Possessing the ability to influence complex decision-making processes is fundamental.

• Superior written and verbal communication skills.

• Demonstrated experience organizing and coordinating projects.

• Sustainability experience in higher education preferred.

• Possess passion for sustainability solutions.
