Actalent Piping Specification Engineer (REMOTE) in Wilmington, North Carolina

Job Title: Piping Specification EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Piping Specification Engineer to take charge of pipe material specifications. The ideal candidate will create, update, and maintain pipe material specifications, work with systems and commodity engineers, and integrate pipe specifications into the design process. This role is fully remote, and effective communication with multiple teams is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Create, update, and maintain pipe material specifications.

  • Utilize Microsoft Office tools to produce documents and calculations.

  • Collaborate with systems and commodity engineers to understand needs and develop new specifications.

  • Interface with BIM tool owners and integrate pipe specifications into the design process.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with selection, classification, and procurement of piping commodities such as pipe, tubing, fittings, valves, and inline components.

  • Knowledge of Section III and B31.1 piping analysis minimal wall calculations.

  • Familiarity with ASME, ANSI, ASTM, and other pipe/component specifications.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with piping specification, B31.1, B31.3, fittings, weld, and piping code.

Work Environment

The position offers a fully remote work environment. Effective communication is critical, as you will need to interface with multiple teams and other engineers, assisting them in using the appropriate specifications.
