Job Description Summary

The Nuclear Performance Improvement Leader will drive activities to support continuous improvement across the nuclear business. This position will monitor trends and compliance to quality expectations & standards across multiple business management systems such as condition reports, behavior observation reports, work orders, and key performance indicators. The role will not only monitor for trends and other indicators but is also responsible for performing cause analysis and driving actions to address the noted trends. Additionally, this role will utilize multiple mechanisms to drive performance improvement such as promoting the sharing & utilization of internal lessons learned and industry operating experience, leadership presence in the field providing timely feedback, and risk mitigation through the change management process for process improvement actions.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

The Performance Improvement Leader is responsible for driving continuous improvement using all available systems and tools to identify trends and ensure compliance to quality expectations within the corrective action program.

Responsibilities include:

  • Perform root cause analyses and nonconformance assessments utilizing tools such as TapRoot and MORT.

  • Lead the Observation and Coaching program, including the observation database tool configuration, training, procedures, expectation setting and oversight of execution.

  • Conduct performance monitoring of multiple sources to identify adverse trends including, but not limited to: the behavior observation database, corrective active program, key performance indicators, nonconformance reports, work orders, etc.

  • Partner with the AI team to develop tools to enhance trending capabilities.

  • Manage the Operating Experience/Lessons Learned (OE/LL) program, promoting the sharing of industry and internal operating experience.

  • Develop and drive execution of action plans/projects supporting continuous improvement efforts leveraging benchmarking and strong change management practices.

  • Perform effectiveness reviews of completed condition reports and improvement actions.

  • Foster a positive nuclear safety culture as a lead advocate for prompt problem identification & resolution, leadership presence in the field, change management, and continuous learning.

  • Serve as the Continuous Improvement representative on the Nuclear Safety Culture Council.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university in Engineering or Science

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in the nuclear industry

  • Minimum 2 years of experience performing in root cause analysis using TapRoot

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in Quality or Performance Improvement

  • Proficiency in risk management tools such as Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)

  • Proficiency in MORT cause analysis tool

  • Practical experience with lean principles and tools, identifying opportunities for and designing changes to processes

  • Six Sigma or Lean certification

  • Proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Power Point, Excel)

  • Knowledge of AI tools

The base pay range for this position is $123,000 to 165,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for bonuses, such as a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. This position is expected to close on Friday September 13th

The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.
