Expectations and components of the role:
The Leader of Commercial Sales in Thermo Fisher's Bio Services and Specialty Logistics is a senior leadership role within the Clinical Trials Division (CTD). This role involves driving business growth by developing strategies, creating new service offerings, and influencing demand campaigns. The position requires thought leadership and mentoring/coaching the sales team. While the role has regional oversight there will be a global presence needed..
Responsibilities:
Achieve business targets, including new business sales for service lines.
Successfully complete significant business initiatives that span across different divisions and organizations, delivering on achievements, sales targets, and other important metrics.
Provide critical insights and recommendations based on external and internal assessments.
Recommend and implement innovative approaches to current plans and strategies.
Engage with a diverse range of collaborators, including direct client communication and public presentation.
Lead a sales team within a region, with global oversight and impact. Proactively set goals and targets for the team, lead performance, and build a culture of collaboration and partnership as part of the One BSL Team.
Preferred Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in the CDMO, bio repository, logistics, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or medical device industries in marketing, product management, sales, and technical roles.
Significant experience with bio repository, lab services, logistics, or drug product development and manufacturing processes.
Strategic marketing, product marketing, or product management experience in a CDMO, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or medical device company.
Sales and people leadership experience is required.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Understanding of the biological samples storage market.
Ability to influence at a senior level without direct authority.
Executive presence.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Adept at distilling and communicating sophisticated concepts in simple terms.
Strong strategic and tactical thinking.
Experience in cross-functional, matrix organizations with minimal direction.
Skills in product marketing and management, including launching new products.
Strong direct and relational leadership skills.
Project management skills.
A Bachelor of Science in a related science or engineering field or equivalent
MBA strongly preferred.
