MASTER PLANNER

Job Summary:

The Master Planner will be responsible to set and oversee the development of the production plan/schedule based on evaluation of the demand and capacity plans to align with the demand from the sites integrated business plan, while meeting business objectives of safety, quality, on-time delivery, competitive customer lead times, profitability and inventory. The Master Planner will support daily management activities to ensure commitments are achieved and communicated to the customer support teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Align production with actual demand, through the merging of tactical and strategic planning methods across any number of organizational functions.

  • Analyzing customer forecasts and production plans to develop an business plan that incorporates, new product development, strategic initiative, and a financial plan.

  • Identify critical capacity constraints and develop strategies to support the business plan.

  • Customer focused with strong understanding of priorities through coordination and collaboration with customer service team, plant managers and the local site leadership team.

  • Works in close collaboration with Supply Chain Manager to develop a production plan to support the overall Supply Plan by making on-going assessment of human, facility, equipment, and/or material resource requirements needed to maintain production schedule.

  • Identifies gaps/risks to achieving production schedule and develops risk mitigation plan and drives actions needed to close gaps, mitigate risk, and maintain schedule.

  • Oversee products on-hold to ensure follow-up and follow-through

  • Implements strategies to improve production efficiency and reduce production costs.

  • Effectively communicates with all business functions the IBP, priorities, status reports, and project updates.

  • Communicates and collaborates directly with internal and external resources as directed by management.

  • Participate and/or Conduct daily/weekly production meetings as needed.

  • Ensure on-time delivery metrics are reported daily, weekly, and monthly.

  • Analyze and interpret data tools to forecast and predict future production needs to make informed production planning decisions.

  • Additional functions and requirements may be assigned by Management as deemed appropriate.

  • Minimal travel requirements.

Educational/Training Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year University;

  • Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field is preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience with the development and implementation of integrated master scheduling

  • Eight years related experience in a manufacturing environment;

  • Or, equivalent combination of education, experience, and industry training (i.e. APICS, IBF, Oliver Wight).

  • Planning/Scheduling experience is preferred.

  • Experience working with customers, sales, marketing or engineering is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to assimilate information quickly, possesses strong decision making abilities and organizational skills.

  • Knowledge of Aerospace and Defense Industries helpful

  • Knowledge of Syteline ERP system a plus, proficient with material requirement planning (MRP) and capacity planning.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project or equivalent software programs.

  • Knowledge of S&OP/IBP Planning and lean concepts.

  • Able to communicate at all levels both internally and externally.

  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.

  • Strong leadership skills.

  • Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and safety regulations.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

  • Able to recognize and solve practical problems that may deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
