As a Strategic Analytics Associate in Risk Management and Compliance, you will work with the risk team to generate thoughtful analytics and recommendations to the business concerning strategy development, implementation, operational controls, and performance monitoring.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain periodic analytics to provide management with full insight into emerging trends and the credit quality of customers in different segments.

  • Examine risk performance metrics and profitability drivers, enabling the assessment of risk vs. reward trade-off encompassing full lifecycle customer credit card accounts.

  • Evaluate data elements, identify attributes that provide incremental power in risk separation, create segmentation, and create differentiated treatments for different segments .

  • Acquire an understanding of the operational processes (e.g. manual underwriting, portfolio management, collections) which have implications on acquisition or portfolio management decisions.

  • Present analytical findings and strategic recommendations to stakeholders.

  • Conduct ad hoc analytics and contribute to various projects representing Risk Management.

  • Work closely with modeling and finance team in model development; work with IT partners to implement changes; partner with risk control team to monitory implementation results.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • MS degree and 3 years Risk Management

  • Otherwise, BS degree and minimum 5 years Risk Management or other quantitative experience required

  • Background in statistics, econometric, or other quantitative field required

  • Advanced understanding of SAS, SAS Enterprise Miner, or other decision tree software

  • Ability to query large amounts of data and transform the raw data into actionable management information

  • Familiarity with risk analytic techniques

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Experience delivering recommendations to management

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Quantitative experience preferred
