The Aleron team has an exciting opportunity to lead our request for proposal (RFP) response efforts. The Senior Proposal Writer oversees RFP/RFI development for Aleron Group. This individual will utilize existing content and also develop new, dynamic content to craft high-quality proposals that showcase our services and value propositions. Collaborating closely with senior leadership and sales representatives, the Senior Proposal Writer will work closely with Aleron's Chief of Staff, our Vice President of Business and Recruiting Support, and our company Presidents. Ultimately, s/he will respond to complex strategic proposal requirements-e.g., RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, etc.-utilizing creative content, market intelligence, subject matter expertise, positioning, branding, and Aleron Group's content library.

The Senior Proposal Writer must develop and maintain effective peer partnerships throughout the organization and work well both independently and within teams.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining a thorough understanding of sales cycles and strategies employed to position organizations' proposals as the "only reasonable choices' for our prospective clients.
  • Managing the overall RFP process flow, creating a proposal response calendar, developing timelines, coordinating with key personnel, leading kick-off meetings, maintaining draft version control, reporting on proposal status, ensuring compliance with RFP/RFI requirements, and managing proposal work through to completion and submission.
  • Working collaboratively with leadership, sales, and delivery to write content and develop persuasive, customer-focused, clear, and concise proposals.
  • Compiling and coordinating the submission of all documents required for the final proposal electronically or in hard copy, as required, and within established due dates.
  • Monitoring and measuring proposal success rates while evaluating opportunities for content enhancement.
  • Conducting self-assessments of her/his own work and reviews of their peers' work to ensure quality, accuracy, 'freshness,' formatting, consistency, and adherence to Aleron Group's compliance, style, branding, and quality/performance standards, in addition to industry benchmarking standards.
  • Collaborating with our marketing/graphics team to develop infographics for proposals, where appropriate.
  • Working closely with senior management and field representatives while handling time-sensitive and confidential information with the highest level of care and discretion.
  • Compiling and submitting various forms and supplier registrations.
  • Submitting periodic reports to management.
  • When bandwidth allows, assisting with coordination and content development in support of Aleron's Exceed Client Experience (CX) mindset, as well as marketing and communications pieces, e.g., case studies, marketing collateral, award nominations, presentations, etc.
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:

  • B.A. degree in business management, marketing, communications, professional writing, or related field.
  • 5 - 7 years of experience in a corporate environment preferably in the proposal development or technical writing arena for professional services.
  • Strong verbal and excellent business writing communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

This is a high-volume, fast-paced position. The ability to work well under pressure, simultaneously manage multiple project timelines, work efficiently, and move fluidly between responsibilities is essential to the overall success in this role.


Preferred Skills / Qualifications:

  • Experience with Teams and/or SharePoint, and the Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Understanding of the B2B sales/buy lifecycle, with the proven ability to craft content that facilitates deal closure.
  • Bonus - Experience with workforce management solutions, such as managed service programs and recruitment process outsourcing.

The compensation rage provided represents our good faith representation of the high and low pay range for this position.
