General Summary Under the direction of the Plant Operations Manager, the person in the Product Manager position provides leadership guidance in the production and packaging of the assigned product family, while utilizing all resources (i.e. personnel, raw materials, packaging, etc.) to ensure the output of high-quality product volume in a safe and efficient volume necessary to meet customer and consumer demand while meeting business results. He/she delivers schedule attainment and other business results in the areas of safety, quality, and cost. He/she drives the continuous improvement process; identifies improvement opportunities and applies appropriate tools to improve bottom-line results and enhance the Company's competitive position. He/she develops the capabilities and competencies of employees through ongoing training, coaching, and mentoring; promotes employee engagement, empowerment, and teamwork. He/she ensures full compliance with all applicable Federal and State laws and regulations, as well as Company policies and standards related to safety, quality, and workplace conduct. He/she plans and assigns work recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. Minimum Requirements: B.A. degree in Business Administration or a related field Education desired: MBA preferred. Minimum of five years management/supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment. Preferred Qualifications: Proven track record of driving for results. Cross-functional operations experience with a proven track record of delivering successful business results in the areas of schedule attainment, safety, quality, and cost. Previous experience managing/supervising large groups of employees (i.e., >50) in a non-union Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA standards, HACCP guidelines, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), etc. Ongoing passion to identify continuous improvement opportunities and lead initiatives to deliver bottom-line results. Change agent; change management skills Outstanding analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Previous experience working in a Lean manufacturing environment employing Six Sigma concepts preferred. Six Sigma Green Belt and/or Black Belt certification preferred. Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written). Must possess strong training/facilitation skills. Computer proficiency in Windows-based software applications (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team environment.
