Hotel Regional Operations Manager Job Description

Job Title: Hotel Regional Operations Manager

Reports To: Hotel Regional Director of Operations

Properties to be Managed: Fairfield Inn & Suites, Stroudsburg Bartonsville/Poconos & Residence Inn by Marriott, Wilkes-Barre Arena

Summary

Responsible for the overall operations management of assigned properties to include but not limited to profitability, guest service, risk management, and overall cleanliness and maintenance of the hotel properties.

Essential Functions

Ensure strategies and goals for growth are being executed for assigned properties

Maintain budgets and optimize expenses

Ensure policies and processes are being implemented

Ensure employees work productively and develop professionally

Oversee recruitment and training of new General Managers

Evaluate to improve operations and financial performance and report findings

Prepare regular reports for Regional Director of Operations

Ensure hotels follow all health and safety regulations

Provide solutions to issues such as employee conflicts, operating issues, staffing issues, etc

Monitor communication between hotels and ensure a timely and accurate flow of information.

Ensure hotel staff are adhering to company rules and policies and oversee implementation of any new rules, policies, or procedures set forth by corporate office

Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and hotel grounds for cleanliness, safety, and appearance

Maintain a professional, cohesive team by hiring, training, coaching, counselling, motivating, and developing General Managers

Manage new hire processes for each hotel department within the property and ensure all newly hired associates complete required paperwork, training, and orientation

Be first point of contact for hotels in case of emergencies and staffing issues

Fill in as General Manager for properties as required

Education & Experience

Minimum of 5 years of hotel General Manager experience preferred

Previous hotel Department managerial experience required

Strong financial knowledge and computer skills, to include Excel, required

Marriott, Choice, IHG Brand Management experience

Physical Requirements

Long hours sometimes required, including nights and weekends

Long travel required to and from hotels

Light work-Exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally, and /or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects

Ability to spend some time moving about the hotel overseeing the various departments

Required Skills

Good communication skills, verbal and written

Possess computer skills, including, but not limited to use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Attention to detail
