POSITION SUMMARY:

This position maintains, monitors and controls Mohegan Sun Arena facilities in an efficient manner during events and on non-event days by performing highly diversified duties to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain the facility.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate, inspect, maintain, and repair building operating systems including boilers, chillers, air handlers, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and some IT and audio visual

  • Maintain the building structure and equipment, including food service equipment and various vehicles (i.e., Zamboni, forklifts, etc.)

  • Operate Mohegan Sun Arena equipment including, but not limited to, Zamboni, forklift, pickup truck, scissor lift, tractor, power tools, hand tools, etc.

  • Inspect systems throughout facility regularly in an organized manner to detect malfunctions or breakdowns and implement corrective actions and solutions.

  • Anticipate potential malfunctions or breakdowns and takes appropriate action to prevent or minimize curtailment of services

  • Assist with maintaining and resurfacing the ice floor pursuant to American Hockey League standards

  • Assist with snow/grass removal as needed

  • Fully comprehend the technical operations of all show related equipment in Mohegan Sun Arena including, but not limited to, scoreboards, lighting, intercom, and sound systems

  • Follow procedures for use of Work Orders and ASM Maintenance Manager Systems (ALTUM)

  • Assist in setup and break down of events at Mohegan Sun Arena as needed

  • Serve as Tech on Duty as scheduled

  • Adhere to OSHA, NFPA and other applicable safety codes

  • Provide assistance to Engineering Manager and Director of Operations as needed

  • Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays, as needed

  • Perform other tasks as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • AA degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance; or a trade school diploma a plus

  • EPA universal refrigerant certification preferred

  • Must have a valid Pennsylvania vehicle driver's license

  • Must possess a demonstrated knowledge of various technical areas including masonry, welding, plumbing, and basic carpentry

  • Must possess a demonstrated technical knowledge of various tools and equipment needed to perform tasks in these areas

  • Must possess the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.

  • Must possess the ability to access all areas of Mohegan Sun Arena; must possess the ability to perform physical labor

  • Involves walking, standing (for long periods), bending, lifting (50-75 pounds) stooping and climbing, and operating heavy equipment
