Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Construction Foreman in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania

Reference #: 4569353 THE POSITION The Department of Environmental Protection's Bureau of Abandoned Mine Reclamation is currently searching for a dedicated and experienced Construction Foreman for a full-time permanent position based in Luzerne County. In this technical supervisory position, you will lead and direct a group of workers who are responsible for aspects of constructing, reconstructing, and maintaining abandoned mine reclamation and other projects. DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Construction Foreman, you will supervise the operation of light and heavy equipment used in construction, reconstruction, maintenance, and other projects. You will direct the work of labor supervisors, equipment operators, diesel mechanics, maintenance repairers, and semi-skilled laborers on job sites. Occasionally, you will have to perform highly skilled phases of work personally. You will utilize your construction skills and CDL license to operates dozers, front-end loaders, backhoes, excavators, track loaders, hydro-seeders, tractor-trailer combinations, dump trucks with and without tag-a-long trailers, pickup trucks, and other equipment to construct small, abandoned mine reclamation projects.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Salary:Most selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $44,890.00 (before taxes). Five years experience as a lead worker or tradesman in construction work, including some experience in the operation of automotive equipment and light and heavy construction equipment; and such training as may have been gained through graduation from a standard high school or vocational school, including courses in mathematics; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training. Other Requirements:

This particular position also requires possession of a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License. You must meet thePA residency requirement.
