InterMetro Industries is seeking an Associate Design Engineer to join the Product Development team.  The Associate Design Engineer supports and/or designs and develops new products and improve existing products in accordance with Metro's procedures and protocols. This role will drive continuous improvement within Research & Development and Metro. Primary Responsibilities: Utilize CAD tools to design and analyze parts and assemblies. Analyze components for performance, reliability, durability. Select materials and subcomponents for inclusion in the designed components. Prepare design documents to describe the components sufficient to procure or manufacture. Perform, compile and evaluate tests on designed components & systems. Support reviews of new product designs. Perform/Review failure analysis of products and generate reports. Provide information to generate purchase orders for prototype parts. Work with Manufacturing/Operations to resolve issues or incorporate improvements related to product design. Support preparation and presentation of project updates to corporate staff (PDC). Fiscal: Assists in planning, monitoring, and/or managing budget in functional area of department Supervisory: Guides work of others who perform essentially the same work. May organize, set priorities, schedule and review work, but has no responsibility to hire, terminate, review performance, or make pay decisions. Compliance/Legal: Employee: Possess knowledge and understanding of the Code of Business Ethics. Contribute to a workplace environment that is conducive to the maintenance of the Code. Remain alert and sensitive to situations that could result in actions by an employee that are illegal, unethical, in violation of the Code or the policies and procedures that support the Code. Report actual or perceived violations of the Code or Company policies and procedures for appropriate action. Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Engineering Work Experience Requirements: : A minimum of one year professional experience Familiar with design documentation including drawing practices and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) Familiar with advanced mechanical engineering concepts, practices and procedures and significant experience in application of this knowledge to the design of products. Familiar with manufacturing process and the interaction of design with the method of manufacture to be used to produce the item.
