Automation Engineering - Fall 2025 Electrical/Controls Engineering Co-Op/Internship
We are seeking a full-time Electrical Engineering Co-op for Fall 2023 and Spring 2024. This position is in Wickliffe, OH.
Parker Hannifin is looking for an Engineering Intern to support our Manufacturing Innovation Center team. The intern will focus on implementing the latest technology and innovative products into our automation and controls machinery, which is implemented across Parker's many manufacturing sites.
Responsibilities
Design and build electrical control systems for testing technology and products
Program and test robots and robotic manufacturing processes
Work closely with senior engineers to develop advanced vision systems
Contribute to the development and testing of automated manufacturing systems
Support control system design and safety reviews
Create/update electrical drawings and schematics
Create custom reports and documentation
Review/create Bills of Material for projects
Work with production teams to understand needs, requirements, and specifications
Qualifications
Undergraduate student, Sophomore status or greater, currently working towards a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or similar Engineering discipline.
Minimum GPA 3.0
Basic Understanding of Engineering designs, drawings, and schematics.
Ability to use AutoCAD or similar CAD software to produce drawings or models.
Ability to read and understand electrical schematics
Preference for hands-on projects
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Some PLC knowledge and exposure to control systems, programming, or robotics
Excellent communication and presentation skills (written and verbal)
Proven high degree of personal motivation and discipline to perform duties with minimal direct daily supervision
High level of independent thinking and resourcefulness to develop and propose solutions to problems
Ability to provide well-organized and thorough summary and detailed information on projects or elements of projects for project updates/reviews
Ability to interface with various levels of staff, including engineers, management, and production assemblers
Ability to successfully prioritize and work multiple tasks concurrently
