Job Summary and Qualifications
The Trauma Manager provides leadership and management for the trauma service to assure cost-effective optimal care is delivered to patients that are injured by maintaining and monitoring all performance improvement standards and quality care metrics. The Trauma Manager will assist the Trauma Director and Trauma Medical Director to assure that all regulatory requirements and quality standards are met as written and determined by all governing bodies and the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma (ACS-COT).
What you will do in this role:
Develop standards of performance, evaluation, and supervision of the Trauma Center’s clinical support staff.
Monitor clinical processes, outcomes, and system issues related to the quality of care provided.
Develop quality filters, audits, and case reviews to identify trends and events.
Act as an agent for the Trauma Medical Director to assure compliance with regional, state, and national trauma statutes and regulations.
Coordinate efforts between local and regional trauma systems.
Manage the operational, personnel, and financial aspects of the trauma program.
Represent the trauma program on various hospital, local, state, and national committees to enhance and foster optimal care management.
What qualifications you will need:
Current Licensure in the State of Kansas as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Current Multi-State Licensure as a Registered Nurse
BLS/ACLS
Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing - Bachelor's degree in Nursing
Three years supervisory experience
Follows and maintains current evidence based and research driven nursing practices and quality measures including but not limited to:
VAP prevention and implementation of VAP bundle
Skin & Wound Care including prevention of pressure wounds
Meeting & Exceeding Core Measures as determined by National Standards Proactive care to reduce Catheter Acquired UTIs
Protecting patient safety and being cognizant of Fall Risk and interventions to prevent falls
Utilizing restraints safely as per hospital policy
Display competence in the following:
Interpreting EKG rhythms
Vasoactive and Cardiac IV medications Ventilator management
MediTech documentation including visual flow sheet
Arterial and Venous blood draws
Obtaining 12-lead EKGs
