Job Title: 5 Axis CNC Machinist/Operator
Job Description
We are seeking skilled 5 Axis CNC Machinists/Operators for our 2nd and 3rd shifts. You will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of 5 and 3 axis machines, cutters, and work holding tools to produce precision parts. The role requires reading and understanding the function of precision instruments to verify product conformance.
Responsibilities
Calculate dimensions or tolerances using instruments such as micrometers or calipers and portable CMM or FARO.
Machine parts to specifications using 5 and 3 axis machines.
Set up, adjust, or operate basic or specialized machine tools to perform precision machining operations.
Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto machines per setup documentation.
Measure, examine, or test completed parts to check for defects and ensure conformance using precision instruments.
Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
Maintain machine tools in proper operational condition.
Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, or engineering information to determine product conformance.
Operate equipment to verify operational efficiency.
Diagnose machine tool malfunctions to determine need for adjustments or repairs.
Confirm with engineering, supervisory, or inspection personnel to verify technical information.
Fit and assemble fixtures and cutters to make or repair customer products.
Dispose of scrap or waste material in accordance with company policies and environmental regulations.
Separate scrap waste and related materials for reuse, recycling, or disposal.
Evaluate machining procedures and recommend changes or modifications for improved efficiency or adaptability per Kaizen process.
Essential Skills
High school diploma or equivalent.
1-2 years of experience running 3, 4, and 5 axis numerical control machines preferred.
Proficiency with Mazak, 4 Axis, 5 Axis, setup, G&M codes, Fanuc Controls, Haas Controls, Haas Mill, height gauges, micrometers, calipers.
Experience with specific models such as Vortex i-630V and Smooth X Controls.

Work Environment
The work environment is a machine shop and sub-assembly setting for aerospace, SpaceX, military projects, and more. The 2nd shift hours are Monday-Thursday, 4:15pm-2:45am, and the 3rd shift hours are Friday-Sunday, 4am-4:30pm. New employees will undergo 6-8 weeks of training before moving to their designated shift to learn our processes. The facility uses advanced tools and technologies such as boring bars, bay reamers, cutters, calipers, micrometers, hand tools, Dotcos/Grinders, various gauges, and Faro Arms, along with software like Verisurf Inspection Software and industrial control software including HAAS and Fanuc based controls.

The pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $52000.00/yr.
