PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB:

Manages the procurement and scheduling of raw materials and purchased parts necessary to support the production of finished goods. Develop and maintain relationships with designated suppliers.

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Issue purchase orders and schedule delivery of parts and raw materials consistent with in-process inventory objectives and production schedules. Expedite or delay deliveries as required.

  • Establish and maintain accurate data in SAP – PIR, source lists, quota arrangement, ERP data pertaining to suppliers, etc.

  • Act as liaison between suppliers and internal groups (Accounts Payable, Quality, Production, Engineering, etc)

  • Evaluate existing suppliers through quarterly business review meetings

  • Support new product development and start-ups

  • Resolves goods receipts transaction discrepancies

  • Analyze reports to ensure inventory and cost variance goals are being met

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, supply chain, or related field

  • CPSM and/or CPIM, desirable

  • Prefer 2 years of related work experience

  • Proven ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

  • Demonstrated solid analytical skills. Detail oriented and accurate.

  • Experience in a fast-paced environment and ability to balance multiple projects.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as demonstrated strong interpersonal skills to communicate with all levels of personnel.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

  • SAP knowledge a preferred
