As an Aquatics Manager 2 for the City of Wichita, youll be at the heart of creating safe, engaging, and enjoyable aquatic experiences across our 18 facilities, including 12 splash pads and 6 public swimming pools.
This isnt just a jobits your opportunity to lead and inspire a team of dedicated aquatics professionals, from head lifeguards to managers. Youll take the lead in training staff, overseeing day-to-day operations, and maintaining water quality standards to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all. \ Examples of Work Performed
- Enforce all City of Wichita Park and Recreation pools policies and procedures
- Help teach and train new head lifeguards and managers
- Administer Swim Lessons
- Check daily incident and cash reports to ensure accuracy and completion
- Schedule staff to the needs of the facility and ensure that coverage is maintained at adequate levels. Helps in scheduling management staff at pools and scheduling splash pad operation staff.
- Administer a regular in-service training schedule for staff
- Ensure facility cleanliness and maintain operations of chemicals and filtration of the pool systems. Is very knowledgeable about chemical application for pool settings.
- Helps determine dosages for chemical additions for pools and splash pads.

\ Requirements of Work
- Ability to listen to, read, interpret, and apply instructions received
- Ability to plan, organize and supervise the work of others.
- Ability to handle chemicals that require a respirator
- Ability to lift empty containers weighing up to S0lbs up to a 4 ft height
- Ability to lift and move large, sometimes bulky objects weighing up to 80lbs with assistance
- Ability to climb steps or ladders
- Ability to move about quickly and stand, walk, reach, bend, stoop, or squat, as needed to perform assigned tasks
- Ability to work outdoors in unpleasant weather conditions
- Ability to tolerate airborne nuisances associated with open grounds and windy conditions
- Ability to climb onto and sit on a lifeguard tower for extended periods of time
- Ability to physically perform life guarding activities, including techniques of swimmer rescue
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the public
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing
