EHS Manager: The EHS Manager's primary responsibilities are to develop and support implementation of the Covercraft Safety Management System throughout the Covercraft organization and to drive continuous improvement in both safety and environmental performance.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop and lead implementation of the Covercraft Safety Management System (SMS) corporately.
  • Develop and maintain the OSHA compliance training program for the corporation.
  • Develop, communicate, and drive the continuous improvement of Covercraft's safety metrics across all of Covercraft.
  • Serve as the primary manager accountable for the safety performance of Covercraft.
  • Participate in manufacturing location Gemba walk activities to ensure the presence of safety as a primary accountability.
  • Maintain required state and federal reporting with regards to safety and environmental performance.
  • Manage Covercraft waste management program to drive reductions in defined environmental aspects.
  • Maintain the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS) in Automotive plants.
  • Assist in the training, development, motivation, disciplinary action and discharge of employees.
  • Responsible for enforcing all corporate policies and procedures.
  • Prepares and updates department work instructions when needed.
  • Responsible for conducting required audits in accordance with pre-determined schedules.
  • Lead implementation of safety committee process for Covercraft
  • All or any other duties as necessary and dictated by management.
  • Interface with 3rd party representatives in support of health and safety initiatives.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Travel 25%

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide ongoing feedback to employees regarding work performance and feedback to management on issues of relevance.
  • Provide timely feedback with regard to personnel issues, benefits, payroll and incentives to management.
  • Work in the production area when time allows or when necessary to get work done on schedule.
  • Prepare Performance Appraisals.

AUTHORITY:

All personnel are responsible for quality and therefore have the authority to stop production, if necessary, to correct quality problems.

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Must have excellent product knowledge and be company computer system literate.
  • Must be able to manage high demand workloads.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Must be a team player. Interaction with various departments an levels of organization.
  • Good organizational skills
  • Proven supervisory skills.

PREVIOUS WORK EXPERIENCE

Two years' experience in a leadership position.

3-4 years previous work experience in an EHS role.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Four-Year Technical Degree

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must have 20/20 vision or corrected to 20/20.

Must be able to perceive colors and shades of colors.

Must be able to lift 35 pounds unassisted.

Must be able to work in moderate noise levels.

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
