DEFINITION Takes custody of inmate personal property and clothing held for safekeeping at a Sheriff's Department Custody facility.
CLASSIFICATION STANDARDS Positions allocable to this class are assigned to a Sheriff's Department Custody facility and typically report to a Supervising Evidence and Property Custodian, Sheriff. These positions are responsible for ensuring that personal property and clothing held by the Sheriff's Department are protected from loss or damage and that the disposition of all property and clothing are maintained appropriately. Evidence and Property Custodian I, Sheriff positions require the knowledge and application of Departmental policies and guidelines and applicable laws and statutes governing the storage and safekeeping of personal property.
