Cerelia Bakery Canada LP Quality Assurance Technician Lead-3rd Shift in Whitehall, Ohio
We are looking for a Lead Quality Assurance Technician that have a passion for quality and motivating teams. This role oversees the day-to-day activities of the QA techs and ensures production quality standards and regulatory compliance are met daily. This hands-on leadership role will plan and coordinate bake-off and testing of retain samples, perform document t review, oversee/ perform equipment calibration, lead testing activities, and drive corrective and preventive actions.
As the lead QA technician, you will play a vital role in assuring quality and food safety compliance through hands-on leadership.
Responsibilities

Oversee daily activities of QA technicians. Assign work, provide guidance, and ensure deliverables are met.
Train technicians on inspection, documentation, testing procedures, and analytical equipment operation. Identify training needs.
Organize, compile and review all records completed by operators and QA technicians including batch records, CCP records, and affiliated production forms…
Conduct internal audits and ensure the quality system and GMPs are followed thoroughly. Identify areas for improvement.
Lead investigations for any non-conformances, complaints, or major defects. Assist with identifying corrective and preventive actions.
Maintain testing equipment and oversee calibration program. Review maintenance and calibration records for lab equipment.
Liaise with production, maintenance, and other groups to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
Data entry for quality results for retain bake-off, incident reports, consumer complaints and other pertinent information.
Participate in external and internal audits and regulatory inspections.
Lead the Environmental Monitoring Program, include environmental swabbing, samples preparation, and identifying hard to clean areas.
Perform sanitation SOP verification and perform sanitation validation swabs
Responsible for sample submittal and packing of samples for transport to testing laboratory.
Assist Quality Supervisor with food safety and quality projects and objectives.
Follow established programs, policies, and practices to produce safe, quality foods that meet SQF, regulatory, company, and customer requirements.
Vacation relief for QA Technicians on all shifts.

Requirements
Education and/ or Experience
At least 3 years of relevant quality assurance experience, preferably in food manufacturing or an associate degree in related field preferred (Quality Assurance, Food Science, Chemistry, etc.).
Knowledge of food safety programs, microbiological and sanitation concepts.
Experience with regulatory (Kosher, Organic, RSPO, Non-GMO, Gluten Free) concepts preferred.
Functional knowledge and use of Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook.
Experience in leading and training others.
Communication and Analytical Skills:
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to apply mathematical application to practical situations.
Must be organized, detail oriented, possess good troubleshooting skills, and be able to prioritize required work.
Ability to think critically in a fast paced and stressful environment.
Other Skills and Physical Demands
Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with minimal supervision.
Ability to work with extended periods of standing, walking, bending, twisting, and lifting safely.
Ability to interact professionally with honesty and respect towards everybody.
Flexibility to work off-shifts, including days or nights, weekends, or holidays.
