What you’ll do as a Spray Technician at Lewis:

  • Be part of a tight-knit crew working in a team environment

  • Use hand tools and power tools

  • Wear spray applicator suites, full face respirators, and/or chemical resistant apparel

  • Mixing and apply spray chemicals, preserving desirable vegetation

  • Assists crews on a variety of vegetation management tasks such as spraying, brush clean-up, and trimming

  • Invasive species control

What you’ll need:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Ability to perform physical labor such as lifting a minimum of 50 lbs. to shoulder height or more.

  • Conduct inspections to identify issues and troubleshoot as needed

  • Have experience with hand tools, power tools, and possess Knowledge of tree maintenance and tree care practices

  • Previous experience with herbicide application.

  • Herbicide Applicator License

  • Capable of operating two-handed equipment to apply fertilizer and chemical applications.

  • Have the physical ability to endure extreme climate variances.

  • Wear for long periods of time spray applicator suites, full face respirators, and chemical resistant apparel.

  • Calibrate, upkeep and maintenance spray equipment and fertilizer spreaders

  • Spray brushes and stumps and make proper application of spray chemicals to prevent damage to desirable vegetation.

  • Willing and able to obtain specialized training and certifications as required, such as Pesticide Applicator’s License, Herbicide Application, Tree species identification, local, state and federal licenses.

  • Preferred Herbicide Application Certificate.

  • Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR cards

  • Pass a pre-employment drug test and job duty skills tests

  • Ability to obtain valid Driver’s License
